| You know that you've been in Shanghai too long when...
-asking someone's age, you ask what animal they are.
-you start picking at other people’s dinner plates before they even offer you a taste
-you can’t fathom a meal or snack without some meat in it
-you debate whether or not you should round up that extra four mao for the cab fare
-you would rather wait on the street for an extra ten minutes for a small cab than get in a cab that costs 6 mao extra a kilometer
-you have absolutely no sense of jiao tong gui ze
-you prefer the ride of a trusty flying pigeon to a shiny xiali
-you invite friends for dinner and serve 1,000-year-old eggs as an appetizer
-you buy a round trip air ticket from Shanghai
-you no longer use tissues to blow your nose
-you started calling other foreigners laowai
-you think singing karaoke on a Saturday night is fun
-other foreigners seem foreign to you
-you consider McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and KFC a treat
